Spritual tourism in the Fermano area | Marca Fermana - Spirituality

The annexation to the Pontifical State and the close contacts with Rome, favoured by the Via Salaria, brought about a flourishing religious and cultural life. One example over them all is the presence of a Rubens painting, which is nowadays on show at the Palazzo dei Priori, which came to Fermo thanks to the presence of the order of of the Filippini. 

Each municipality has a strong bond with its patrons, which often comes out in the legends and in the mystical. But what characterises the spirituality of the Fermo territory is the walks, the roads and those resting places that have welcomed the men who have passed through our territory. We refer to the Sacred small Temples and the Rural Fountains built along the main roads they used.

The many Churches and Sanctuaries of various periods are to be added to these, like the Sanctuary of the Saints Ruffino and Vitale and the Roman Sanctuary of Beato Antonio from Amandola, the Sanctuary of the Madonna delle Grazie at Monte Giberto and the Sanctuary of the Madonna of the Ambro at Montefortino with late Baroque and Classical elements. It is to be pointed out that in the Province of Fermo the XV century Jewish Ghetto is also situated at Monterubbiano.
